The Freedom Chapter SAR members listed below have developed topics and programs that are Historic, Patriotic, and/or Educational in nature.

Distance Willing to Travel: 60 miles*

Fee Req’d: None for SAR/ DAR/ CAR. For other organizations, please contact me directly. *A travel fee may be required for travel distance over 60 miles.

 

Topic 1: The Intolerable Congress – A Night with John Adams

Synopsis: Discussing John Adams and his role within the First Continental Congress, as well as the responses to the Intolerable Acts.

Time: 20 minutes. Can be adjusted.

 

Topic 2: A Night in History with John Adams, Part 2

Synopsis: Discussing John Adams and his role within the Second Continental Congress, leading     up to the Declaration of Independence.

Time: 20 minutes. Can be adjusted.

 

Topic 3: Scottish / Irish Contributions to American Independence

Synopsis: Discussing the migration and contributions of the Scottish / Irish immigrants to American Revolutionary Independence.

Time: 20 minutes. Can be adjusted.

 

Topic 4: Armed Forces Day

Synopsis: Discussing the history of Armed Forces Day and its meaning.

Time: 15 minutes. Can be adjusted.

 

Topic 5: Flag Day

Synopsis: Discussing the history of Flag Day and its meaning.

Time: 15 minutes. Can be adjusted.

Availability: Days, Nights, and Weekends

Advanced Notice: 2-4 weeks, depending on location

Distance Willing to Travel: 1-1/2 hour drive*

Fee Req’d: None for SAR/ DAR/ CAR.  For other organizations, a donation to the Freedom Chapter SAR is appreciated.  *For further travel distances, expenses are negotiable.

 

Topic 1: Fife and Drums in the Revolutionary War

Synopsis: Covering the applications and uses of the fife and drum as a method of command and control communications on the field and in the camp.

Time: 20 minutes. Can be adjusted.

Topic 1: Benjamin Franklin, the First American

Synopsis: Why did George Washington call Benjamin Franklin the First American, and why do all US military ships fly the Join Or Die flag leaving port?

Time: 20 minutes. Can be adjusted.

 

Topic 2: The Ride of Paul Revere

Synopsis: What did Paul Revere forget before the ride to Lexington? And what were the Several Miracles during the Ride?

Time: 20 minutes.  Can be adjusted.

 

Topic 3: History of Iron Manufacture in Colonial America.

Synopsis: What was the GSW 1812 role of the Bourbon Furnace in Salt Lick, Kentucky, and who was Col. Tom Owings?

Time: 20 minutes. Can be adjusted.
