Are you interested in American history, particularly the founding of our nation? Do you have an ancestor who played a part in the American Revolutionary War?
The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is a non-profit, non-political organization that invites men like you to explore their lineage and connect with a community dedicated to preserving and promoting the principles of American independence.
Beyond tracing your lineage, SAR membership offers tangible ways to impact your community and honor our shared past:
- Youth education through initiatives like the Americanism Elementary School Poster Contest and the Knight Essay Contest, encouraging young people to learn about our nation’s origins.
- Area JROTC programs by recognizing outstanding cadets who exemplify leadership and patriotism.
- Local community service efforts, such as assisting veterans or preserving historical sites.
Central to our mission is honoring our patriot ancestors and all veterans, which we do through activities like marking Revolutionary War gravesites and participating in patriotic ceremonies on significant dates like Flag Day, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day.
